Our Story.
Sophia Snow Place is a senior living community that truly offers the best of both worlds—a modern facility on an attractive urban campus. We are a not-for-profit organization, and as such we are able to make our residents our most important priority. We are supported by a thriving endowment that has continued to grow since 1856 now under the direction of our dedicated Board of Directors. Our facilities are regularly updated to meet all health and safety standards, including carbon reduction goals for the upcoming decade. We enjoy a long legacy of community involvement and activity, and we continue to strive to contribute to the health of our Greater Boston neighborhood. Our residents reflect what is best about Boston, and many continue to engage with family and friends in so much of what is special about our City.
Our location affords easy access to world-class medical care, rich cultural and educational resources, sporting events, fine dining and shopping. We are near the Faulkner Hospital, across the street from The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, and have the Allandale Woods reservation just out our back door! We continue to enhance our campus with improvements to our walking trails and plans to open a Healing Garden to encourage our residents to enjoy the natural world that surrounds us -- including one of a handful of certified Vernal Pools in Greater Boston!
For those who want to continue to live their active lives in the city without the worries of home maintenance, we offer 66 spacious Independent Living apartments at the Residences. Additional services such as housekeeping and meals may be purchased on an a la carte basis. As our Independent Living residents age, they have top priority for openings in our Supportive Living program — similar to Assisted Living — at Sophia Snow House, or may stay in their apartments with the support of private duty assistance.
You never know when your health needs may change. At Sophia Snow Place, we offer Supportive Living in 36 private suites for those seniors who require assistance with some of the activities of daily living. Our services include 24 hour care, nursing staff on site, medication administration, and three meals each day, as well as housekeeping, laundry service, transportation, and a robust activities program.
