Enjoying the natural world is a perfect way to reflect on life’s changes in a context that suggests hope and renewal.  As nature reawakens the world, we join it in recognizing our own potential and possibilities.  We build with nature’s strength to confront our own challenges as we continue the trajectory of life as it twists and turns. New realities and capabilities mean new opportunities for growth and adventure. As each individual plant or flower is buffered by the community of other natural elements surrounding it, we too can count on each other to support our growth and enrichment.

This year has brought Sophia Snow Place new opportunities and adventures. As recipients of this year’s Community Preservation Grant from the City of Boston we are excited to start Phase One of our project to create a healing garden on our campus.  Our efforts will be enhanced by our campaign to spread the word among other non-profit senior living campuses of the benefits of increasing the number of pollinators and native plantings at their own locations throughout the state.

Our kitchen staff is turning up the heat on our resident’s dining experience as we develop our “Philosophy of Food” with its emphasis on a variety of seasonal menu choices.  Our facility is getting a re-fresh in many ways, from a complete overhaul of the HVAC system to new color configurations on the walls and new furniture in our common spaces.  We also have pushed the reset button on our website and plan to roll-out a new look in digital world as well.  Finally, our Resident Council is actively engaged in promoting their voice in our day-to-day happenings through their governing role as part of Independent Living membership.

We invite you to learn more about our new beginnings and old awakenings on our website and blogs.  Hope to see you soon around campus!
